Vorentoe Primary School follows the South African Curriculum. This is called the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS). Many people involved in education refer to it as the CAPS (CAPS) document. It is a single, comprehensive and concise policy document, which in 2011 replaced the Subject and Learning Area Statements, Learning Program Guidelines and Subject Assessment Guidelines for all subjects.

CAPS (CAPS) is part of the National Curriculum Statement Grades R – 12, which proposes a policy statement for learning and teaching in South African schools and compromises of the following:

a) Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) for all approved subjects;

b) National policy with reference to the Program and Promotion Requirements of the National Curriculum Statement Grades R – 12; and
